Waveney Community Forum CVS - here to help'
Waveney Community Forum was set up in 2000 by local charities and community groups who recognised the need for an umbrella organisation to represent the interests of the voluntary sector in Waveney.
In 2002 we attained registered charity status and applied for associate membership of the NAVCA (formerly NACVS) to become the Waveney Community Forum, Council for Voluntary Service. In February 2008 the Big Lottery Fund approved a BASIS grant to support the Waveney Community Forum CVS for the next three years.
Waveney Community Forum CVS exists to help the hundreds of voluntary and community groups across the area. It covers young to older people, those who like amateur dramatics to those who care for others, from Park Friends groups to Befriending and Rotary Clubs - all with a wide range of causes and purposes. Members receive information and support, from start up to development and funding advice, from our four Community Development Officers (CDOs) across Waveney.
- Claire Taylor-Crisp is our North Lowestoft Fairshare Trust CDO
- Janet Peachey is based in Beccles
- Chris Reeve supports the Bungay and Halesworth areas
- Julia Miller is based in Southwold
